For the girl who has planned every detail, every special touch, and every moment of her wedding day only for it to be derailed by an unexpected epidemic, I see you and I grieve with you.
It doesn’t feel fair that the date you have prayed over for months has been taken from you. And it isn’t fair. It’s ok to feel those feelings, but don’t let them lead you to anger. Let them lead you to the arms of a Father Who also sees you and grieves with you, Who comforts and protects you, Who loves you deeply.
Don’t let a disease steal your joy or blind you from the Truth.
You will be a beautiful bride on a beautiful day, and you are already His Bride — the Bride of Christ. His wedding day won’t be delayed, derailed, or destroyed. Our Groom is coming for us sooner than we think.
I am praying for you. I can’t imagine your current state of disappointment. I remember the excitement that led up to my wedding day, and I would have been devastated if I was in your wedding shoes.
Don’t let anyone rush you through the grief you’re experiencing, but don’t forget that there is Hope in it all. Our hope is in Jesus, and I promise He will heal your broken heart.
I can’t wait to see the beautiful weddings that will come after all of this is over. Maybe, just maybe, they will be even better than they would have been. Maybe God is setting aside new dates for you to say your vows and dance your dances.
Maybe your happily ever after will be even happier when it’s all said and done.
